glad to see the liberals were paying attention. I didn't mention that the original commitment was for 1200 beds, but you're right, the money for the computer generated drawings had to come from somewhere. After all the liberals love their pretty pictures.
If the work had been started when it was supposed to, there wouldn't have been a need to question my alternate reality and todays photo op would have been them handing over the 1200 keys to some needed beds, instead of 3 more years of promises.
Heard it all before.

Why are these being built in a city that the future tennants can't possibly afford to live in?

Hey groundskeeper, perhaps in your cynical world everything falls perfectly into place, however if you hadn't noticed, the entire global economy was restructured. But reality isn't important to a good rant, eh? How about the fact that we probably need these rooms a lot more now than we ever dreamed in 2007? Kudos to all those that made this happen. Let's see it followed through sooner than later.

Social housing should only be built in the BC Interior where lower costs provide better value for money. It's absurd that people who can't afford to live in Vancouver must subsidize others who can't afford it but get lucky on social housing criteria.

This is a complete waste of money.

Disgusting. Why are these being built in Vancouver? Because they want to be able to get their drugs easier. These people will still be drug addicts and the end of the day and a drain on our society. Enough is enough.

What a redonkulous waste of money. Why not build them something in Surrey for less than half the cost?
Why not in Hope for a tenth of the cost? Don't waste my tax money.

DO YOUR RESEARCH!
These are all properties given to the provincial government back in 2007, by the city of Vancouver in a land for housing swap. Gordo had a big photo op back then too, thumping his chest and strutting around on stage. SIX of these "just announced" projects were to have been COMPLETED BY MID 2010 - NOT ANNOUNCED - COMPLETED! Lest we forget

Redo your calculations and increase the numbers. With inflation and higher interest rates on the way there will be a lot more people in dire need. For the average person there is no way out of this financial blender, eventually you'll get caught in the mix and when you do what you had will become a tasty treat for the rich who will take over for pennies on the dollar!
